A new member checking in mentioned he had a Norinco. I've never taken any pic's of mine until tonight so it's time for show and tell. You don't see them very often posted on 1911 enthusiast Forums and I know there are lot's in the U.S. I also know that Clinton banned their importation in the early 90's, so since I guess they don't trade hands very often. It's the exact opposite up here. I see more Norinco 1911's at my club than any other make. I have some Colt's and a S&W PC1911 and I have this Norinco. I purchased it used about 3 years ago for very little money with the intention of using the frame as a dedicated platform for my .22 Conversion Unit addiction. The problem was that it shot so nicely that I decided to do some modifications to make it a bit better, to suit my tastes. Wilson Combat and a Canadian company called Dlask Arms supplied most of the aftermarket parts and Rodger Kotanko at Dark Firearms did the work. I think it turned out pretty good. so, here's a couple of pic's:

Inexpensive solidly built! Cried like a baby when I had to sell it after a divorce...

Cool piece. I'd had my eye out for a Norinco for a long time waiting for the right gun and deal to come along. Finally bought one a couple of months ago that had been worked over by Terry Tussey. Got it from an Addicts forum member who had found it in a pawn shop!

SWEET !!

I bought my Norinco 1911 , new ($358.000 ) in 1993. IT to me has been nothing more than a Colt 1911 in that the parts are interchangeable. She eats everything I've fed her and just plain mechanically sound. I went on a little thing and converted it to a 460 Rowland which I haven't fired yet with the thought I'd "just get another one" and keep it original but I've noticed that it seems these Norinco 1911 are hard to find, less lone the prices have gone up.

I have one I purchased in the mid 90's. We at that time had a true 1911 pistol smith living near me I wanted him to build me a 1911 so I ask him which one to buy. He said don't waste your money buying anything other than a Norinco. I did and he did a beautiful job it shoots great! Never have regretted getting it.

22ConversionUnut, that's nice work on the Norinco. They show up occasionally on the auction sites here in the States. I found one at a gun shop a few years ago. Solid gun. We did a review on the Norinco as part of our Great Affordable 1911 Series.

Can we see the other side? Does it have the Tussey Logo in the rear panel?
