Hey everyone!

Based on the suggestions of C_Carson and Frost, I am trying to gauge everyone's input or level of interest for a new section in the "Discussion Groups" category. I am hoping to get a decent level of user interest to create the category for National Firearms Act (NFA) items. This includes suppressors, short barreled rifles and shotguns, and things of that nature. This is for 100% STRICTLY LEGAL AS PER THE B.A.T.F.E. items. If you want to know how to obtain Form 1s, 4s, Chief LEO signatures, etc, this category would be the place to do it. As well as posting pictures, videos, etc.

I want to reiterate that ONLY legal things would be allowed in this forum. If someone posts a question like "I would never do this, but how would you..." would not be tolerated. The BATFE does not take even hypothetical things lightly.

So, if you own, want to own, or just want to know the process, please give some feedback and we can get this created!!

And to Frost or the other admins, I would volunteer to be a moderator for this sub-category, if possible. I realize I am a relatively new member, I just thought I'd offer.

For the record, I have one tax stamp pending with another one due to my dealer any day now, so I will have plenty to contribute!

I'd look in on it daily. However I don't believe there are many of us NFA types here.
I'm not saying don't create a subsection just that it would be slow to develop content.

I agree with Clicker theres not that many here that have NFA pieces. Personally I always thought the black rifle forum covered them pretty well.

It's a fact many of us here don't have NFA goodies, but it would broaden the forum, and possibly attract new members looking for information on the subject.

Good perspective.

I don't know why I would want to put a can on any one of my guns, but I agree with Mrs. Carson; it would be great for publicity and definitely put a greater level of organization to the forum concerning NFA items.

Thanks for the input, guys! Keep it coming.

I had a friend encourage me to look into suppressors about 8 months ago. I test fired a few and purchased one on the spot. From all the shooting I'd done in the past, this had made the biggest "shift" in my perspective of shooting. A reflex optic to an ACOG is a fun change; shooting suppressed changed the game completely for me. A whole new aspect of the sport. A year ago, I didn't think this way. It wasn't til I got my hand on a few and learned a few things when I felt like suppressed shooting was the only way to go for me.

You could get a QD mount can and put it on multiple guns :D

+1 on an NFA subforum

1 Form 4 pending, 1 Form 1 pending, and waiting on a 762SDN-6 to come in for another Form 4.

I think a 7.62 can is in my future. I love shooting my 5.56mm, but the suppressor only gets rid of the noise of the round; you can't help the supersonic crack. The 300 Blackout can get Hollywood quiet with the right rounds.

Sounds good to me. maybe we could even get some information on reopening the MG registry

I'm for an NFA sub-topic. I may get a suppressor or a SBR or a trust or just want a knowledge base about the ins and outs of the NFA process.

Dave

For the record, if anyone needs some NFA advice before a sub forum gets created, just send me a PM!

Personally, I don't like putting things in boxes. I'm a keyword/tag/search kinda guy. Actually, I only look at New Posts, Your Posts, Active Topics, and most of all Unread Posts. I'll catch it regardless.

If the admins think the category would be useful, it would be great to see it on the site.
