How do you decide what weight of magwell to use and does extra weight on the bottom of the grip really help with recoil? I have seen everything from 1.1oz to over 7oz magwells.

I believe that's the idea behind it. It just comes down to how much you want the gun to weigh and were you want it. I like my guns slightly on the heavy side but prefer a lighter magwell. It's all preference

I'm running the 7oz on my G24, it was too damn light so I guess I like a heavier pistol also. I don't know how much recoil it reduced but it sure handles better for me. Thing about recoil it's that whole action reaction physics stuff and look at it this way you have 15# recoil on a 1# gun is going to feel different than 15# recoil on a 5# gun so it boils down to how heavy you want your pistol or how much recoil you would like to feel. Later,

Kirk
