I was wondering if anyone knows of any good mag wells I could put on a 1911?
I'm turning it into a "race gun".
Even though I practice with it pretty much every day for many hours I just can't seem to get it down, I fumble with the mag A TON!
But every other single stage gun there is I can work with perfectly as far as mag changes.
So if anyone knows of some good mag wells, let me know please! :)

Alexander and Smith make fair magwells.

Even with a mag well... you need to grasp the magazine correctly (index finger tip on the top bullet's point) and focus on a spot in the frame where the back of the mag is going to hit the back, flat edge of the frame. I've known some folks to paint a dot on that spot as a learning aid in an effort to make the muscle memory consistant.

Perfect Practice Predicts Perfect Performance.

I think that's the mag well I'm getting. I'm getting one from Brownells. But I grasp the mag correctly everytime and it's like 1/10 chance I'll get it to work. I always practice with it for MANY and MANY hours but can't to it, I am getting a 'lil bit better though.
I guess since I'm used to double stack mags it's a bit harder but like my dad's P225 or my Walther PPK/S I got that down perfectly.

you're doing it too fast.
form over speed. Practice doing it right instead of doing it fast.
