Howdy all,

I'm slowly coming along with my 3-gun shooting here in the very flat and very short distance ranges of South Florida. I've made up my mind I want to hit 3 major matches in 2013 to see how I handle it. I'd love some input from you vetrans of this sport on what matches are the most fun. The only match I've shot aside from local matches was the Task Force Dagger match earlier this year. To date the farthest I've shot is 200 yards and I'm really looking forward to seeing how well both my gun and I perform at greater distances.

If you could pick your top 3 matches you are looking forward to for 2013 what would they be?

Thanks!

-Todd

I plan on shooting Pandemic 2013 in Nebraska, very new 3 gun shooter friendly great range and a fun match.

It's impossible to pick just 3.

My favorite matches that I shot over the past few years have been the following.

AR15.com RockCastle ProAm - Stages are fun. Good mix of natural terrain, mid to long range rifle, plenty of shotgun, a couple fast bay type stages, lots of shotgun action. The after match festivities are great. Lots of vendors, free beer, all your buddies, top pros, and new shooters to hang out with and shoot the breeze.

USPSA Nationals is fun if you like fast and furious stages. It's bay type shooting which I enjoy. I only shot it once since they moved it from fall to spring. I wish I could go back!

Ozark 3 Gun has been a lot of fun. They had a rough year in 2011 but 2011 was back to the 2009 & 2010 ways. The stages are fun natural terrain style stages. They stretch out the rifle a bit but its not all long range stuff. Good mix of hosing and accuracy. The lake of the ozark area is beautiful so there is a lot to do after the match. I wish they would change to half day formats so we could hit the lake on the off afternoons.

Awesome! Thanks for the responses guys. The PRO-AM sounds and looks like a ton of fun I'd love to hit that this year. I heard it was pretty much sold out instantly last year wasn't it?

Most of the good ones sold out fast in the past. With the 2-3 new majors and the 3GN Pro series I expect there to be more room at some matches.

The ProAm will be full in minutes if not seconds.
