1: Google Maps is not familiar with the Lake of the Ozarks area. As a result, I was able to practice my stiff-arm steering and proper methods of hitting the apex of the curve while driving at a high rate of speed down Missouri back roads. Incidentally, for those of you who have been wondering, Bluff Drive in the Lake area has some very quaint houses, but is not helpful in getting to the Lead Farm Shooting Range. Unless you live on Bluff Drive. Double check the route when going somewhere new.

2: Shotgun rounds tend to work better when chambered and fired at targets than they do when thrown on the ground because you haven't practiced much with loading on the move.

3: Thank God for the catching ability of large dump buckets. Glocks like to jump out of your hand when you are moving faster than your skill level allows.

4: If you arrive late, (See LL #1 to avoid this) make sure you at least read the stage brief/diagram and know how many targets there are. Failing to engage a target that you didn't know was there does not set a good tone for the day.

Hell no, it was a great day. I finished 8th of 39, 5th of 23 in TacOps, and it was only my third full 3 gun match. I figured out where I really need to improve before the Area 3 Multigun and discovered my rifle is hitting pretty much exactly where the holdover dots indicate out to at least 350, I got to watch a young man rock his first match in Heavy Metal, and I picked up a RT comp for 65 bucks. Great day overall.

I would say that was a hell of a good day. Hope to make it out to that match sometime soon.

Good to have you out, a few SG bobbles, but overall you did an excellent job.

+1 on double checking the GPS route, been there , done that. Funny story of our vacation in CO.
