This Labor Day Monday we will have a steel match at Oil Capital Rod and Gun Club. Same rules, wacky stages.

Sign-in at 9:30am and start shooting at 10:00am. Round count of around 200 (150 if you don't miss.) We will have all the normal divisions: Rimfire pistol optic/iron, Centerfire pistol optic /iron, and Rimfire rifle iron/optic. Oil Capital Members $10.00, non-members $15.00, and second gun $5.00.
If you are in good shape, we will greatly appreciate any help tearing down after the match (please don't puttargets on the ground; we take them apart as we load them on to the trailer- much easier than picking them off the ground.) But no pressure if you want to leave or can't help.

Remember we have plaques for 1st place winners.

Hope to see you at the range.

Can't wait to see the stages! Did you say walls and barricades and shooting a Texas star through a barrel??!! Lol

Wait so this is not a normal steel challenge match?
I was just kidding around. I heard there might be some "fancy" variations of the existing 6 stage match. I can't wait.

Sorry Micah, no Texas Star... this time.
No poppers either.
Same Steel Challenge targets, no reloads, and 22 friendly.
I'll try to get a PDF of the stagesmlatermtoday or tomorrow.

This are the stages we are planning on shooting on Monday.
22 friendly, but certainly different, and with lots of movements.

This match was a blast. Thanks to all that helped set up and tear down. It helped a lot.

The match ended up being much more intense than expected, and we even threw in an extra stage. With a minimum round count of 190, weak hand strings, and a lot of movement, we did not finish until 2:30. But I think we all had a lot of fun. We'll do this again, maybe with 4 or 5 stages instead of 6. (BTW, Troy and David were the brains behind the weak hand idea - I was just an bystander in the stirring of the pot.

We got a much bigger crowd that expected, with 33 guns and 27 shooters.
David Johnson took first RFPI, Matt Pizzulli took 1st PI (this was an awesome score!), Rick Peeler took open, and John Oxford came in 1st with rifle and lowest overall.
Ruger-sponsored shooter Starla Fuller had the lowest junior and lady score.
Congratulations, you all get a 1st place plaque for OCR&GC.

IDPA match at Oil Capital next Sunday, and Steel Challenge on the 4th Sunday. We will have 2nd match on the 3rd Sunday or the 5th Sunday - Keep an eye out for match notices.

Results have been posted.

Thanks Renato it was a blast! It was like pro/am and steel challenge had a baby but a lot quicker stages with movement. I enjoyed it. Love shooting on the move!
