Both of you knuckleheads listen up! That is most assuredly not a 2011. There's not one molecule of plastic in that gun.

A lot of the folks here see a comp gun when the word "custom" enters the discussion

A few of us see a nice, blued instrument that rides in a holster for years... and makes us hesitant to miss bad guy because we would really hate to have to risk a fined blued finish to blood salt pistol whipping a bad guy who we did not shoot correctly.

The race folks expect a gun to look OK after being drawn a million times... shot like hell for a year or two and parted out or rebuilt when the next greatest thing comes along

Two cultures that may live in peace... forever and ever, amen.

Last time I checked one of Chuck Rogers guns was going for about 7500, parkerized and cera-koted.

Both are great and have there place in the world, I disagree with alot of the "race" gun's I have seen on here as when I think of a race gun its 9x23 and hard chromed, but we all have our opinions and they all smell like an asshole, right :)

I have a soft spot in my heart for a blued pistol, my model 19 and diamondback would not be the same without it. A well done Gun kote, Ionbond, Np3 or whatever you choose is a nice change of pace however.

as for all 2011 looking like ghetto bumpers, I disagree there, I have seen some really nice modular guns (and I dont mean STI). It's all about the craftsmen and remember, every customer is differant, they always want something that makes you go, GROSS, but it's their gun and their money.

you have not a clue
Nor do you. folks are paying 7k for "cerakolted" pistols.

Just because junior down the street cerakotes skulls on his sks doesnt mean cerakote isnt a good product.
I dont mind the jokes; but as least bring a small eentsy teensy bit of information with you when you post in a thread.

Who put a burr under your saddle?

I'm just another lowly Okie without a clue, but I say it depends what you're building. At some point, I want a classic, .45 acp, high gloss blued single stack 1911. And for that, yes, CeraKote would blow that gun all the heck. However, I also want more CeraKoted 1911s, for their erosion/corrosion resistance for a high use gun.

I agree with what you just said. It does depend on what youre building.I dont call "sacrilidge" or blanket statement any coating like they did.

As far as my calling out the fluffers, you cant see it because youre one of those other forum guys!

I guess you can't see the subtle humor that was intended. Those statements were only personal opinions.
Heck, if somebody wants to paint lolly pops on their 1911, I say go for it.
Doesn't mean I have to like it.

I've had a 1911 in my hands with enough gold in the engraving to buy a new car, but I didn't like it either.
Just my opinion. :bye:

Just looked at the weather forcast, they a saying its going to be a elephant dung strom. :)

True dat.

I guess I just didn't see any serious misinformation worth being a dick over.

DHoddy was apparently serious, but who takes anything PG says seriously?!?! :P

We weren't discussing anything serious like "how to defend yourself" or "how to interact with LEO" it was gun finishes. I think OD is ugly. You may think it's sexy as all get out. Who cares?

You can claim CeraKote is a functional finish; sure. But I didn't hear anyone saying Gloss Blue is superior finish to Cerakote, just that they didn't think 'Koting belonged on 1911s.

All I was getting at.

thats it form now on all guns must be made in stainless steel lol. :)

I really didnt think this question would start some much crap, but it seems all conversations I am involved in lead to this...hahaha :)
