Just finished my first reloaded cartridges. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go try them out this week or next weekend. Just a check, does this sound reasonable? I only ask because there's some variation in reloading data in different sources.
9mm
147 gr lead flat point (the 147 gr ones here http://www.uniqueprecisionbullets.com/9mm.htm)
over 3.9gr of WSF.
COL 1.169 (varied between 1.159 and 1.171, with all but 3 out of 14 being between 1.167 and 1.169 - is that a normal and safe variation?)

I load that same bullet (different manufacturer, same mold) at about 1.14" so even your extreme outlier should have plenty of case capacity.

However, according to my loading manual, 3.9gr of WSF is a max load. Your OAL is pretty long but you still might want to start a little lower and work up.

That's the inconsistency I was seeing. Data.hodgdon.com and the data that came with my dies list a max of 4.1 and OAL of 1.169. My lyman manual lists max of 3.9 but a much shorter OAL. I have. Pro auto disk and the next hole down only threw 3.5 grains.

There is an add on disk for the Lee auto disc that is in .1 grain increments.

I thought about getting the adjustable charge bar, but I read something about it being unreliable with small charges

OK you're probably fine then.

Their 147gr lead data is for their own mold. If you use their 1.058" OAL with Magma 147gr mold bullets you will get MAD pressure signs even with min loads (ask me how I know).
