I wouldn't even consider it for years now. Once you go up the shelf to Blanchards, Angel's Envy, or even Makers Mark, JD isn't even fit for mixing anymore.

That stuff would give me a splittin headache with the first sip, I kid you not! Felt like someone smacked me in the fore head with an axe. Needless to say we have a hate hate relationship. When I drink whiskey, it's whiskey and ice. my past brother in law taught me about that. He said the carbonation in pop was what gave you the headache lol. I truly miss that man.

I think mixing good Bourbon is blasphemy. Straight on ice or without ice is good for me. I really enjoy an occasional 3-fingers deep glass of a good sippin Bourbon.
