I just realized, getting ready for my first 3 gun Sunday, I have no clue what I'm doing other than shooting a bunch. I'm pretty sure this is a 3 Gun Nation match, or at least the Rockcastle web site used their logo. Questions are, what division am I shooting? How do I load and make ready for shotgun? I'm sure safety will be covered in the new shooter briefing, such as grounding a gun. Now info for my questions. I'm shooting an XDm .40 set up for USPSA Production, bone stock Stag Model 1 carbine, with A2 style sights, and a Mossberg 24" JM Pro. All I could come up with short notice were 2 Choate 6 round caddies, and an AR mag holder, plus my production rig. As for the shotgun LAMR, I'm pretty sure one doesn't make ready off their belt. So, pocket full of shells? I do know, round count is 75 each, rifle, pistol, and shotgun. So, please help me out, so nobody will be afraid to be squadded with me.

I'm sure, after the day is over, I'll have a whole new list of questions, as well as a whole new wish list!

You will preload your shotgun before the shooting on each stage starts. This usually occurs when the RO says alright guys everyone over to the berm to preload shotguns. You load up 8 or 9 rounds in your tube. DO NOT LOAD THE CHAMBER until it is your turn to shoot and you are told to load and make ready.

Thanks Jesse, that makes sense to me. I was worried about coming up to the line and fumbling with a pocket full of shells.

Division will be tac irons.
As jesse said don't load the chamber until told, actually don't even put one on the lifter until told to make ready. The other 2 guns, you'll make ready at the line.

Thanks Wall! I'm feeling a little better about it now. Just somewhat overwhelming for the first time. Lol!
