I've been noticing a lot of people not leaving a bevel to the follower in their home port jobs. Is it not needed?

I still have some polishing to do but, this was as far as I was comfortable going with my first attempt until I get a chance to test it out. The area around the follower makes me a little nervous :unknw:

That looks really good. My goal is rounded edges everywhere. No bevels or sharp edges. It's not a magwell like a pistol. It's a larger port so your shells don't get hung up going into the gun. The rounded edges also don't cut my thumb when loading wrecklessky fast or wear it out when practicing loading for 15-30 minutes. If I have a decent handle on the shells I never miss the port like I do with a pistol or rifle reload. The other goal is to have the port far enough forward and low enough so that I don't need to stick my thumb inside the gun to get the shells past the shell catch.

To be completely honest all Those sharp edges would scare the heck outta me. I've never loaded into something like that but if it works for you that awesome. I'd like to play around with they shaped cut out on the top. Might've just the ticket to that last 1/16-1/8" needed to send the shells home.

The only place that could kind of be considered sharp is dead center above the follower. Even that is rounded and smooth. You could rub your eyeball on all the edges and be completely safe.

I shouldn't have said sharp edges I should have saysid small radius' on the edges. I prefer a much larger radius on all corners. Especially those around the follower going into the gun. I'd be convened about stabbing a shell into there and damaging the crimp enough to either not getting it to load fast or to malfunction firing cycling of the gun.

Like I said if it's working maybe my idea of a perfect hole isn't perfect.

Some updates: Went a little farther with the porting then polished it up a little better, installed a TTI lifter, tweaked and polished the shell carrier latch, and polished the mag tube. A few more tweaks and hopefully I can finally put it back together and go shoot the damn thing. :hunter:
