So I'm finally getting better at dropping deuces in my shotgun. However I haven't really got a chance to run it hard enough to get the barrel very hot, until today... HOLY elephant dung!!! My left palm was instantly welded to the barrel! So I can finally load halfway competitively and I've got to get branded every time I load? Other than rocking the Michael Jackson look and wearing a glove on my left hand, what's the secret?

3 weeks ago when I asked how to not do that I was told.....
Don't touch the barrel or...... Flip your wrist and don't turn the gun in your hand.

Thanks JT!

Yup, that's what mine looks like! And I bet you just stood there and took it while you shoved more shells in too! Anyway, thanks!

Sounds like a semi-pro tip right there !

Somebody suggested that I put a strip of the soft side Velcro in my barrel. It helps. You still can't touch the vent rib.

You also need to train yourself to roll your wrist over all cockeyed.

After learning that touching the barrel was bad, I tried the Velcro trick that Jesse mentioned and it helps. But not rolling the gun over too far helps the most.

I had a semi pro tell me to not take my hand off of the forearm, and to just roll it over to the side, not up side down.

Everyone makes it look so easy on YouTube and such.

First time in a match and I was in the same boat. Since then I've tried to do what JT mentioned and not roll my gun as much, while keeping my palm on the fore end.

I did the same damn thing at Tulsa the first time. Since then, keep a firm grip and roll the wrist. It doesn't do a bit of good when you finish a 35 target shotgun COF and then put the fat part of your palm on the barrel. Burnt bacon smell.
