Shooting my first 3Gun end of next month, even if I have to use my 870. Hopefully my Mossberg JM will be here by then. I'm running a CR Speed belt with 2 belt loop double mag holders for USPSA Production. After looking at last match stages, the most shotshell needed was 17 in a stage. So I'm thinking 2 4X4 holders and 1 AR mag holder. I suppose I need tech locs as well to change between stages. Sound about right?

Also, can I load my pistol mags up all the way?

Get some extended base pads for your pistol mags and load them up, three will be more than enough. I would get one more shot shell carrier in for no other reason than you might occasionally want different shells on your belt.

To add to my problem, I know my 3Gun oppurtunities will be limited. We have 3 local matches each summer, plus monthly USPSA. I guess I'm going to get regular shell holders, to just get my feet wet. I can do that fairly reasonably, and not break the bank. Probably every beginner has gone through this, until they perfect what works best for them. Thanks for the advice!

There are quite a few guys who make the drive over from KY for our Brownells G3G Regional 3-Gun Matches each month in Southern Illinois. Looks like just over 3 hours from Utica. We'd be happy to have you come out and join us anytime!
