I bought my first and so far only AR in 2010 to shoot IPSC rifle after having shot pistol, sporting clays and some other rifle disciplines for a few years. Didn't know at the time that I was even going to be half decent at it so I just bought a 16" because it looked cooler and I didn't care about the short gas tube and stuff like that.
After a couple years shooting I'm at a point where those things matters, so for this season I'm building a new rifle, starting with the upper just to get the most important bit out of the way. Going for the most optimal competition rig possible.
Will train like crazy this winter and shoot damn good next season.

Not yet, I'm broke enough alread from travelling and shooting in the nordics, But I'm sure it would be fun. Probably the best bet would be to book a flight to New York as those are fairly cheap, and shoot somewhere not to far away.
It won't happen this season as I'm spending everything I have on guns and ammo.
