Hello from NY

Hi everyone. I found this page from Jesse Tischauser's page. I have been hiding in the shadows the last couple days and thought it was time not to be a stranger anymore. Last year I got to shoot my first informal, but competitive 3 Gun with a local group that does one a month and I absolutely got hooked. Unfortunately as you see I live in the dictatorship of NY and now with the NY SAFE ACT we will never see a real sanctioned 3 gun event I believe. This year I plan to fit in at least 4 shoots with the local group if my schedule permits at work and hopefully next year I will venture outside NY to a 3 Gun event or 2.

Jesse you ever shoot the FNH USA 3 Gun in West Virginia? If they have this event next year, this is one of the out of state events I was thinking of attending. Or does anyone out there have any other event suggestions to take a look at for the 2014 season. I know it might be to early to start looking at 2014.

Ive shot it every year since it started 2-3 years ago. I think its full already. You can get on the wait list or shoot with the RO's possibly. I post all of the major matches here...

Its sad to see the draconion rules that have been enactacted in your state considering what a great hunting tradition it has. Hopefully some of the law suits I've seen enacted will make it through the court system and your shooting rights will be protected once again....

Hey a fellow yankee, I grew up in Sussex county New Jersey before I went into the service. (Right near Warwick, NY) I now go to school in Oklahoma and the firearms sports are so much easier here. I can't imagine the hassle to do 3-gun or even USPSA up there. I will be visiting my family the beginning of August if you know of any competitions! By the way welcome these guys are awesome and are a huge help!

I was stationed at Ft Monmouth NJ at tech school. Lived on the Board walk at Asbury park in a tiny apartment.

Nice, I was up north about 2-3 hours in the country. I lived right next to the Delaware and by the Appalachian Trail.

Just Say When, I grew up in Goshen 2 towns over from Warwick, now I live in Montgomery. Unfortunately I am locked into this state for at least another 6 years until I can retire, collect my pension and move out of this state if need be.
