Really new to the forum though I checked it out a few weeks back. I love shooting. Got my first real gun for Christmas a little over 48 years ago. I've never had enough bullets or time to shoot since.

Sporting clays and shotgun technology have been my focus for the last several years. Built my first rifle about 3 years ago. Prairie dog killing machine (22-250). Just built me a really great 308 and looking to play the long range rifle game more seriously.

Still shoot some clays and love to shoot pistols on steel.

Have competed in:
Sporting clays
Collegiate indoor smallbore
Highpower rifle
Cowboy Action shooting

Would like to compete in F-Class TR and maybe open class someday.

Here is a pic of the first group from the new 308. 126 yards. 5 shots.

Enjoy,

Doug

Doug,

Two things - first - WELCOME hope you enjoy this place.

Second - where is the pic?!?! I had a 22-250 I bought for a varmit gun - what a helluva round - I was really impressed with it. Since sold it and moved on but still - love that round.

Welcome to the BS forum Doug! Great to see another competitor on the board.

The file did not attach cause I only chose it but did not attach it. Duh. And I work in IT

Since you mention 22-250.. Here is a group from the first rifle I ever built. The groups are all at 126 yards cause that is how far it is from the shop door to the pond Dam. The numbers are MOA not inches.

The 308 group is from another rifle. Not the one I just built.

Looks like only 3 shots to me. :c029:

I've never seen a 3 shot 5 shot group from my bench. Nice Shooting!!

Welcome to the forum. Good group you shot. A 22-250 is one of the next guns I would like to pick up. Shot my cousins 700 model chambered in 22-250 when we were hunting prairie dogs a few years ago and loved it.
