Yesterday I shot a local match and I really elephant dung the bed on every stage. I'm pretty sure I did better the very first time I ever shot 3 gun. This got me wondering about something. Is it normal to see improvements in each of the aspects of your training, but turn in a worse performance overall as you try to figure out how to put it all together?
I feel like where I'm at right now could be summarized as "moments of awesomeness separated by periods of complete incompetence". There are times when it seems like everything is in slow motion and I'm just burning it down, and then inevitably somewhere along the way the wheels fall off...
Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this type of thing? Or do most people just see a gradual improvement as their skills increase? Am I pushing too hard? How do I get to where I have longer "moments of awesomeness" and fewer "periods of complete incompetence"?
