Getting Started

Hey everyone, I want to get started in steel challenge, I have a S&W M&P 15-22. Do I need any special equipment? I have only ran one fun gun zombie shoot over at heartland. I want to get a little more serious into the competition world. What are some other competitions that can be ran with this riffle?

ussa has been allowing rimfire rifles at their 3gun matches

The Ruger Rimfire Challenge also...and some ranges are now allowing .22 in their 3Gun matches, the one in NC allows that. Check your local ranges for details...

I bet as a new shooter they would be happy to. You'll need a couple of mags.

But, at a three gun match, if you bring the ammo, other shooters will happily loan you gear...

OKCGC allows rimfire for steel challenge but not for 3gun matches.
There used to be a .22 fun match at OKCGC, but I think they stopped it due to lack of interest.
