Failure to case gauge.....

FYI..... Failure to spend 15 min case gauging match ammo cost me 3 MINUTES on the clock in my first major match!!

I had TWO bulged cases jamb on one stage.

LESSON LEARNED!

And just so you know, after checking the other 650 rounds I had loaded I found one other bad round. So 3 out of 1000 rounds were bulged and I found 2 of them at Cowtown........

That was a bummer. You tore you thumb open clearing the jam, too.

I've always used a Redding Glock DrX and have never had a bulged case.

15 minutes before or 15 minutes after, either way get those bulges out of there!!

At least you found both of them on the same stage and put all your bad eggs in one basket!

Yes I used my barrel to check the rest of them.

And I'm sure pre sizing with the Glock Dr would make the press run smoother but I'm gonna barrel check ALL rounds that go with me to major matches!

how do you know that those holes are the same size as your chamber? -same with Ryan's link?
answer you dont, and they probably arent. Are they good enough?, probably. but the perfect case gauge for any ammo is already in the gun you intend to fire it in.
Heck, you can even see if that "case gauge" feeds ammo when its a lil dirty. Cant do that with the 100rd casegauge thingy unless you baste in in bbq sauce and stick it in the grill for a lil bit.

I have a Dillion guage I quit using after I figured out some rounds would go in it and not in the chamber.
