An Oldie But Funny

And they are worried about our guns!! ;)

Subject: DOCTORS

Aren't statistics wonderful???

Doctors

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is

700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians

per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician

is 0.171

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of

Health and Human Services.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now think about this:

Guns

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S.

is 80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths

per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths

per gun owner is .0000188

Statistics courtesy of FBI

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,

BUT

Almost everyone has at least one doctor.

This means you are over 9,000 times more likely to be killed by a doctor as by a gun owner!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large,

We withheld the statistics on lawyers

Sorry Mike

for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

I'm on the phone so I can't do much research, but will try it from memory

Accidental automotive deaths: 45000 per year

Accidental firearm deaths: 1200 per year

Here are some interesting statistics:
Leading causes of Death in America (single year):
1. Heart Disease-598,000,
2. Alcohol Related-75,000,
3. Drug Related-36,300,
4. Motor Vehicle Related-36,000,

Gun Related-9,600.

Gun related deaths don't even make the top 15 leading causes of death based on CDC information. So the one thing
that is targeted as being so heinous and supposedly results in the unnecessary and massive loss of life is the one thing
that results in the fewest losses? Have you seen any campaigns against control of drugs or alcohol that share the same
aggressive fervor as those who seek gun control? Nope. So if you don't think there's more to it than just trying to
prevent death or injury, think again.

if the government gets you killed off before 65, they dont have one more person wanting their social security.

Can you link to that data? My numbers from memory are probably off, but the number you cite for accidental firearm deaths seems much higher than I recall.

Accidental firearm deaths was actually less than 1000. The number represented was all deaths attributed to firearms including crimes and accidents.
