Sliced my left thumb open again on my shell caddy. 2 weeks ago I thought I had cut it open on the extra "flash" where they were molded (California Comp Works). Scraped all of them clean before O3GC. Well, I now have a 1.5 inch cut across the pad from the end of the shell retaining spring.

Guess I will be filing off any burrs on this part as well. Is there anything else I need to look out for? And before anyone says it, I had my mom dispose of the plastic bags the loaders came in so I would not suffocate on them.

Academy has shell bags with belts for only 6.99 - I bought one for the 3 gun

My 6 round Choate have the same spring, I tried the AP products 4x4 this last weekend. Nice but not cheap. Guess I just need to man up and build some calluses.

The flat spring? My Choates have the dual formed wire springs. I thought it was shabby at first, but I've run around at full speed and crawled across the ground with them on and never lost a shell, and they let shells out smoothly and easily.

Yeah, the wire spring has barbs. that is what got me. Got the file after them and smoothed them off.
