It's true and clearly unconstitutional. It should be easy to shoot down in court. Lawsuits are already being filed. This is a cancer that must be destroyed or it will spread across the liberal areas of the country.San Jose Passes Mandatory Insurance, Annual Fee for Gun Owners

Yes it is true. But unenforceable and just plain stupid.
CA doesn't care. These commies simply pass rules to make life difficult on anyone with a differing viewpoint. If you sue them, the same taxpayers pay for the lawsuit who pay their salaries to begin with. So they aren't held accountable for bad behavior.
Although I'm sure prudent gun owners will scoff at the new rule. Just like prudent gun owners should scoff at ANY 2A infringing rule. There are plenty of ARs in CA--even near SF--ya just gotta look in the right place

I was LA based years ago (living in the DFW area and commuting to pick up my overseas trips). Needless to say I was well armed while in the LA area (and a non-resident); prudently scoffing at that insane state. And if ever caught (which I never was) to use the perennial befuddled old man approach (which has gotten some rather dimwitted folks who went through metal detectors in NYC released on reduced charges).
So, ya....leftists don't play by the rules. Why should we ?
