CMP GAMES REGISTRATION OPEN

Registration is now open for the CMP Games - Oklahoma and Eastern CMP Games. Competitors are encouraged to visit our website and download the Official Program and Register for the Games Matches.

New for 2013, the CMP will hold the first traveling Small Arms Firing School and M16 EIC Match on Wednesday April 3rd during the CMP Games Oklahoma and Friday May 3rd during the CMP Eastern Games. The CMP will also be introducing two new Pistol Matches, including the CMP As-Issued 1911 Pistol Match and the Military & Police Service Pistol Match. The Pistol Team match will now be a two man team match. A new Modern Military Category is being added to the GSM Match. Competitors will have the ability to fire in four separate events during the CMP Games. Shooters may choose to fire a Garand, Springfield, Vintage Military or a Modern Military Rifle. No ammunition for the Modern Military Rifle match will be available for sale (.223 or 5.56).

Looked into it if I can shoot my pistol in the MP Service pistol match I will probably register. I sent them an email to see if my USP would work.

Let us know what you find out. I'm wondering if my Kimber 1911 5" would qualify. Maybe not with the adjustable sights. I'll have to study the CMP site regs and check it out.
The will be selling rifles and ammo.

Yeah thats why I am wanting to shoot one of the matches so I can try to buy a garand while they are here

You don't HAVE to shoot at the match to buy a garand or ammo. They have them out or anyone that comes up to the match (at least they did last year).

I was going to use that as part of the requirements to buy through them my understanding is you have to show you are active in shooting sports or show some type of training with live fire which I think CCW may also count but not sure.

I think membership in USPSA, and showing where you rank, or proof of shooting at a USPSA match qualifies. If your a member of an NRA gun club, you qualify as well.

When I bought mine at the match they didn't even ask about being a member of any organization. I am a NRA member, but they didn't require proof. If you order by mail they require that you send documentation.

Thats interesting. I'll bet just being there at that match is qualification then.
I just spent an hour or so on the CMP website browsing around. Lot of rifle models are sold out with no current stock to come in.

Anybody have information on how many rifles and what kinds the CMP will have there? I could only go on April 3rd and would be going solely to buy a Garand.

I was working on filling out the forms just now to order one. It has a spot where a notary has to sign and notarize it. As if all the other requirements weren't a pain, I have to take it to a notary? I'd much rather just drive to the match and buy one there but I'd hate to wait and get there and they not have any Garands and then go to order one and they be sold out.

Got an email back today saying that my USP would be good to go for the M&P Service Pistol Match

I'm so jealous! What grades of Garands did they have for sale and how much were they? I might drive down there tomorrow but I don't want to drive an hour if they won't have any rifles then.

What time are they closing down?! I can't get out there until 4pm!!!

They had the CMP Special grades.

Springfield was $995, new wood and refinished metal.

H&R arms was $950 with just new wood.

Not sure but I assume till at least 5 when they have the maintenance clinic or until they sell out.

There were still rifles on the table when I left at 1:45. Not sure how many we're still in the box that they hadn't brought out though.

Someone told e they brought out more each day...but I am not 100% on that. How much 30-06 did the have? I was going to try and get some Saturday after the USPSA match and I am curious if they will have any left.
