Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

I moved here 6 months ago from San Diego where I was born, raised and lived my entire life. Quite the change but I am really enjoying the South and all of the great people here. Beats the hell out of California (although I do miss the mexican food but LOVE the Southern BBQ!).

I just found this forum and am happy I did. Looking forward to researching it and getting a feel of what is happening locally.

Thanks, in advance, to fellow members and moderators. Cheers...

Thanks for the welcome Dave, C_Carson and thebrasilian (nice AR by the way). I appreciate it.

I've lived in Sillyville all my life and I always ask someone who moves here from far away...."How did you end up in Simpsonville?". I'm not knocking it--it's such a good place to live that I'm still here. Just curious as to what draws someone who hails from somewhere else. Like a local Judge said many years ago, "This is a great place to live, I just wouldn't want to visit there." Anyway, welcome to the forum, and anyone who shoots is okay in my book. 8-)

Thank you for the welcome LiveFreeorDie.

Well....the dart hit the map right on Simpsonville so here we are! In all seriousness my wife and I had our first child, a baby boy, and we wanted to raise him somewhere very different from California. The cost of living is insane :o in San Diego (the damn "Sun" tax as they call it) and everything we read and heard said this was a great place to raise a family. The price we paid here for a large house on almost an acre would have gotten us a studio on the mexican border in San Diego.

So far so good...great people, good food, actual seasons, cheap fuel, and a decent cost of living.

Thanks again for the welcome. I am enjoying the local feel of this forum.

Welcome

i guess that makes me "privledged".

born and raised in Spartanburg.

i stayed 2 summers in AZ. nice place, didnt get all the buzz about the heat because it was so dry but i learned real quick they dont make trees out there like He did here.

So true Tigerstripe and one of the things that leaves my wife and I in awe....SOOOO many trees and colors, just beautiful. Not the concrete jungle we have been accustomed to. Only so many people can live at the beach and palm trees don't change colors.

Thanks for the welcome!
