Have you heard of the new bill to restrict the sale of alcohol to anyone with a felony conviction, documented substance abuse history, or a misdemeanor where alcohol was a factor? The drivers license or state ID would have a mark on it that would make it illegal for anyone to sell alcohol to that person or for that person to be in possession of alcohol.

No? Me neither.

John Canuck and some others on this forum may be better at this than me, but I just looked at all pending legislation for the current session by using "alcohol" and "drivers licenses" as search terms and couldn't find any proposed legislation matching your description. Doesn't mean it's not there, only that I didn't see it.

Oh my goodness! I'm usually pretty good seeing sarcasm, facetiousness, and wit when it exists but totally missed that one. I was so focused on trying to help him out that I missed the joke. Shame on me.

I'm crawling back in my hole and hiding now......

Originally, this may have been a joke (and one I completely missed, to my eternal embarassment), but the New Mexico legislature just proposed marking driver's licenses of anyone convicted of DUI so that they could no longer (lawfully) purchase alcohol. Not debating the merits nor the practicality of this proposed law; just thought you might like to know.
