Best days to check for ammo?

Hey I was wondering what are the best days to check stores such as dicks, academy, and walmart for ammo? I live in edmond, but work down at the airport, so the walmart/dicks on I40 and Mac area would be checked daily for me. Also anyone know who might have some this late in the weekend? Taking my wife out to try the M&P 9c but only have 24 rounds left, basically enough to give her a quick fam on the gun.

I'll give a little insight in regards to finding ammo instock at Walmart. The larger Walmart stores get trucks 7 days a week. A few of the small stores in small rural towns might just get them 5-6 days a week. Ammo is trickling in on just about every truck. Friday night my store got 75 boxes of 5.56mm. There have been nights recently where we've received as many as 25 100ct boxes of Federal 9mm.

If you want to see if your local store is getting some in that night, use Walmart.com. They start unloading the trucks at 4pm and they will update the inventory just a little after 4pm. Walmart.com doesn't show every kind of ammo that stores stock, but it does show some of the higher demand stuff. If you check the site around 5pm and it shows in stock but showed out of stock earlier in the day, then they are getting some in that night. Might not be on the shelf at 5pm, but it is coming in that night. Some stores are stocking ammo as the truck is unloaded and it's on the shelf as early as 6pm. Other stores are stocking it through the overnight hours and have it on the shelf by 7am. Visiting with the sporting goods associates in your local store will get you info on how or when they are stocking the ammo that comes in that night. Using the site will help you figure out some of what is coming in that night.

There is a three box per customer per day limit. Stinks for some of us that walk in and see twenty boxes you want to buy, but it's keeping away the people buying a ton just to sell on GunBroker or in local gun shops. It's lasting hours on the shelves instead of minutes now. I'd sure like to be able to buy more than three boxes, but it has resulted in more people being able to buy three boxes than all but one person being able to buy zero boxes.

Oops... Seems they have removed the ability to browse ammo online and check to see if it is instock in specific stores. They don't sell it online so no real reason to have it listed online, but it was handy. Oh well.

I have talked to the manager, I was told they get a truck every night but no one knows what ammo will be on the truck. Employees have told me to come early in the morning, to come after 12:00 midnight and to come around 9:00 at night. Employees told me they are rotating managers right now at my store and it depends on which manager is working to determine what time it will be put on the shelf.

Don't believe the in stock notice on the Internet it's BULL$h!T just call your local store. I signed up to be emailed when ammo is in stock and haven't ever received email notice on ammo. Signed up at 10 different store don't waste you time.

I scored the mother load last night 3 20 round boxes of 5.56. Now I can shoot half a match woohoo! All customer can only by 3 boxes of ammo period.

My store has not seen 9 mm since November, more BS but my warehouse must be out of it who knows.

Thank God I reload. I spent an entire day reloading last week. I'm good for all matches untill August. Between now and then, I'm sure I'll find another 6 months worth of supplies.
