Greetings everyone!
Welcome to the Arkansas Section Webpage for 2015. My name is David Hyden and I am the new Arkansas Section Coordinator, again. Our Executive Committee has come up with new informational avenues for getting match and club information out to competition shooters of USPSA matches. I hope you find our webpage information is to your liking and I hope that you will visit us at a range soon. Here is the new website: http://www.arsectionuspsa.com
The Arkansas Section will host two championships this year. The first will be the Arkansas Section Handgun Championship at the CASA range June 25-28. This match will consist of 10 stages of fire, 200+ rounds, and if time allows, maybe all stages can be finished in one day. We are in the process of setting up ON-LINE squadding and PayPal using matchsignup.com, and will offer Thursday afternoon and all day Friday shooting for a limited number of shooters based on a first come, first serve basis. Of course staff will be competing during this time, so get signed up as soon as possible. I am seeking volunteer staff which will shoot the match free of charge.
The second championship will be the Arkansas Section Multi-Gun Championship at the OFGC range August 27-30. The OFGC crew has not established the number of courses nor the round count at this time, but when more information comes available about that match, it will be posted here, on email, and other social media sources.
A note about the PRIZE TABLES for both championships for 2015. In the past, we have always spent a considerable amount of time on prize acquisition and then the prize distribution after the awards ceremony, which always took a lot of time away from the folks traveling a long distance home on the last day. We have made a substantial change to that process and I share it here. Upon your arrival at the match registration prior to commencement of the match(s), you will receive your shooter packet AND your match attendance prize. All prizes for the competitors will be identical and the retail value of your prizes will be near the cost of your entry fee. Your prizes will consist of some of the most favored items offered at matches, within reason of course. At the conclusion of the match(s), there will be a short awards ceremony for plaques and a CASH award to those placing HOA in division and in class. The amount of the payouts will be based on the number of competitors in a division/class. More information will be available on this in the matchbook.
If you have any questions about the matches, feel free to contact me and I will get you an answer in a timely manner.
See you at the matches!
