In the process of building my first AR, here is what I accomplished today. Waiting on some more parts so stay tuned! It is pictured next to my Smith and Wesson Extreme Ops (best $10 I've ever spent).

Its a Rock River lower and parts kit with a Magpul CTR stock. The mag says "RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOVERNMENT USE ONLY" on the other side, I thought that was cool.

About 700 pounds but only I have to move it around.

The light and the can are the weight. The handguard is one of the lightest out there.

Nothing special, but I was trying to keep it simple. Got one of the Spikes and DTI kits from Cold Hand Arms. Added an Ergo Grip, Moe Handguard, NCStar fold down rear site, Aimpoint Micro dot clone (w/ riser) and CProducts mags, old school CAR15 stock. Never built an AR so this was very fun and easy. Props to Cold Hand Arms for such a good gun a a steal of a price. Upgrades I want include going to 11.5", little nicer backup site, BAD Lever, Primary Weapons compensator , Irene Sling.
