AMMO PATROL

Summerville Walmart on Dorchester had CCI 100-round boxes of .22LR for $7~, 3 box limit. HP and round nose. Had a good amount of the RN stuff. This is as of 9AM 5/7/2014.

Last evening at about 9:00 PM Academy Greenville had a shelf full of .22LR - various manufacturers and types, nothing but 50-round boxes.
The top of the customer service counter was just about covered. Prices from $3.19 up. Still have a 2-box limit, though.
Had lots of Federal, CCI, Aguila. Didn't see any Remington or Winchester. I got two boxes of Federal copper plated round nose for $3.19/box.
This store gets ammo shipments on M-W-F, so they had this after a full day of selling. Up till recently they usually sold out of .22 by noon to mid-afternoon on Mondays.

Academy on Woodruff Rd still has quantities of 22. Limit 2 on small boxes and limit 1 on bulk (or limit 0 since they don't have any).

Went by academy yesterday and not much of a dent in that pile.

I also went by cabelas and picked up a box of winchester 333 for 18$ had several onthe shelf along wit some CCI stingers and remmington stinger type too.

Wife and I picked up 650 rounds of 22LR and 200 rounds of 22 Mag at Academy tonight. Prices good.
Limit still one bulk box or two boxes of under 300 rounds. Had several 325 round boxes of Federal Match Grade .22 LR for $18/box. CCI .22 Magnum was $11.99 for 50 round box.
The manager told me things are definitely easing up at least for Academy. This was the first time I've seen .22 Mag on the shelf in quite a while.

Is it my imagination, or didn't they have these at $2.19/50 recently, as their standard non-sale price? I guess they figured they were selling out too fast at that rate.

Which leaves the question... at what price can a store sell 22 but not have their shelves picked clean? IOW, at what market price will bulk 22 stabilize?

I was told by a Walmart employee that they just don't have the people it takes to run the whole store all the time...so, they cut back on hours of operation in some departments....I guess the ammo counter was first...

Just what I was told....

This is the most likely. Long story short, several years ago my Uncle and I were in a Walmart around 1 am because he wanted to buy a car stereo. They literally had no one with the keys, or access to the keys, to open the case with the car stereos at that time.

Travelers rest walmart has .300 blackout remmington 120gr supersonic for 16.44$ per box, had around 16 boxes.

Picked up 525 rounds of 22LR for $21.99 today at Academy in Greenville. They had several more bricks on the shelf at 11:00 AM. Good to see .22 availability getting better. Still have a limit of one bulk pack or two 50-round boxes.
