AMMO PATROL

Walmart in North Charleston on Rivers had 9mm, .45, and .40 on the shelf. Not much choice, all ball ammo, but pre-crazy prices. Winchester White Box and Blazer.

Limit of three boxes total per customer according to the clerk, but no signs stating such.
 
Wish i could find pre crazy prices at the walmart in travelers rest. We continue to have barren shelves of pretty much every thing. Did see some 7mm and .270 and a couple of boxes of .380 along with a bunch of shot gun ammo. I guess I will have to continue to visit the ration line at academy in Greenville.
 
Academy in Anderson is getting well stocked. They've moved some 9mm and other handgun ammo back out to the floor but are still hording a good bit up as CS.

Good selection of 9mm, including 100rd packs. Other handgun calibers. And the first 525rd 22 bulk packs I've seen on a store shelf in ages.

Whoa, Nellie! At what price? From what I've seen, Academy has resisted price hikes. Did you clear the shelves?
 
kidding right? academy was selling 50 box of 22s for 3 bucks. that was the cheap price. $30 a brick? thats normal?

Academy Gvl was selling 50's for $2.19 with limits in place. Just wondering what they were selling bricks for, since I haven't seen them in awhile. I say normal is $22
or less.
 
they were 21 and change iirc.

Higher then usual sure, but likely in line with the percentage increase that they saw in their cost.
 
Travelers Rest has bulk packs of 5.56 american eagle 150 rd for 69.99

And 9 mm 100 rd winchester...but that may already be gone, I bought two boxes and some one came up the the counter looking for some too as i was leaving.

Also there was plenty of 40 and some 45 but didn't pay attention to amount.
 
Walmart on Dorchester road in Summerville has lots of .223 and 5.56 in stock today.

PPU .223 55 grain = $7.79/20 round box (approx 10 boxes in the shelf)
American Eagle 5.56 55 grain = $60/120 round box (approx 5 boxes on the shelf)
American Eagle 5.56 62 grain = $69/150 round box (approx 5 boxes on the shelf)
 
Allen arms in Greenville had .22lr in 525 federal and 500 thunderbolt bulk packs 34.99. Only 3 federal left as of 3 today.
 
It's that time of year, that time for the one production run of 17 HM2 "Mach 2" (not to be confused with the taller and more common 17 HMR). Everyone please BOLO for it.

What's the reasoning behind walmart not selling ammo before 7AM? That's the only time i can stop there, and they always have what i want but can't buy.....makes no sense to me.
 
I'll bet that is what their corporate legal team has told them to do in order to avoid heightened liability. There is probably a valid statistical correlation between gun crime and nighttime hours - which doesn't have enough substance to give rise to a new law, but does get their insurance carrier's panties in a bunch.

Insurance risk assessments drive most nonsensical business decisions, IMHO.
 
I was told by a Walmart employee that they just don't have the people it takes to run the whole store all the time...so, they cut back on hours of operation in some departments....I guess the ammo counter was first...

Walmart in travelers rest has remmington .300 blackout for 18$ Bunch of 9 mm, 40, and 45. Picked up a 100 rounds of 9 mm tula brass max for 22$ + tax
