Well it is finally here, this has been 10 years in the making and next Saturday it is going to happen.

When I bought my house here in Pryor I had a dream of turning it into a range, that was April 2001.  That September the World changed forever and my plans were delayed. A few years later I met my soon to be wife. A few years after that and we had our first child.  Then finally  10 years later I built a range.

I don’t know if the saying "If you build it, they will come" is really true but I do hope everyone can make it.

Steel challenge matches will be the 2nd Saturday of every month (that’s next Saturday) starting at 9:00 am.  In fact, I have decided that because of the heat, we will start shooting the first squad as soon as we have enough shooters after 7:00 am.  So if you are like me and want to take advantage of the cool temperatures then come on out at 7.

USPSA  will be the third Saturday of every month starting at 9:00am.  We may do the same thing with an early start time if anyone is interested.

Man on Man Steel will be the shoot off this month at both matches. There will be 1 plate put down for each difference in classifications between competitors. Example, GM=6 plates vs C class=3 plates. There will be a reload before the stop plate.  Cash prize to the winner.

RANGE OFFICER CLASS application is attached. The date is October 8-9, 2011.  The class is limited to 30 students on a first come basis and it is already 1/3rd full.

Section Coordinator, it appears that I will be the Section Coordinator for USPSA for 2012. With Jesse putting his support behind me and no other candidates filing we can now look to next year's opportunities. The club presidents must confirm before it is official but I hope I have their supportJ.  I want to say thanks to Kelly Raglin for the great job he has done and for the continued support he has he has offered to me and to the section.  Thanks also to Jesse for his support, and even more importantly to all of the membership that expressed their support.  It is very cool to know that others believe I can do a good job.

I will be putting together more info about specific needs I have but for now there is 2 things I need everyone to consider.  How important is this sport to you and how you can get involved.  If you are interested in the administration side of the sport I need you, please contact me directly as I am looking for a group that can assist me as we modernize the section.  More importantly, how can you help your local club.  Everything we do requires volunteers, from stage design to stage setup and teardown.  So get with your local clubs and plug in, I promise you that the people that are doing it now will enable you to get plugged in.

I'm excited about the opportunities we have and look forward to the growth we are going to experience this next year.

Here is a map to the range, just click on it and Google maps will open up.
