Anybody have any experience with 700X and making .40 major with 180 gr. plated? I know there are many other powders out there and everybody has their favorite, but I have 700X on hand and am looking for a major load with that specific powder,,,,if possible. Would be shooting out of a G35 and an Edge. I'd appreciate the input.

I'm thinking about starting out with 4.4 gr, chrono and go from there. According to the manual, 4.7 is max at 1.125" oal. I thought maybe someone may have a little experience with it and get me a little closer.

I think most around here use WST.
If the book says max is 4.7, just do what you said yourself and work up the load with the chrono.

I like using WST it just appears that it's tough to make up a major load with. Is it not?

It is not tough at all. 180gr projectile and 5ish grains of WST= major PF. It is a very popular load.

I use 4.8 grains of WST with Federal gold magnum primers loaded to 1.185 with 180 grain X-treme bullets.
If I remember correctly, it makes 169 pf
