I really need to get my 650 moving before it rusts tight. I am looking for your input on .223 loads so I have a starting point this winter offseason. Thanks for the advice.

IIRC, I'm using 24.5 of 2230 with 55GR FMJ.
I can't remember off the top of my head what the OAL was, but I'll check tonight.

69 Grain hornady bthp
Win brass
25.5 varget
cci br2
mag length
avg of 2835 to 2850 fps

What kind of bullets are you running?
I was using Speer FMJ Boat Tails but this last go round I picked up some House packaged FMJ BT from H&H to save a little money. They've performed fine so far. I'm seating to the cannelure which puts me at around 2.25 OAL.

Last time I talked to Mitch about it he was working on getting some jacketed .223 in for sale. I haven't spoke with him recently to see if he has. If possible I like to buy all I can from him. I only get my stuff elsewhere when he's out of stock. He's kind of a 1 stop shop for all my reloading components.

25gr of AA2230 gets me 3050fps from an 18" barrel with a Hornady 55gr FMJ @ 2.24, replacing the bullet with a Nosler ballistic tip yields a great accuracy load too with similar velocity.

25gr of TAC with a Hornady 75gr HP gets 2750-2800fps out of the same 18" barrel (I dunno how many times I'd subject cases to that load though).

I'ma try some 77gr bullets too, just haven't gotten around to it.
