2015 Contingency Program Discussion

Quick question. If you shoot a match that does not post results via the internet but rather an email, how do we go about posting the results? Is it acceptable to screenshot the email and post a link to that pic?

that will work.

I am new here and want to make sure I am all set. I ordered my jersey, filled out the contact form and submitted it about three weeks ago - but have not rec'd my email link yet (I don't see it in my spam folder either). I should have my jersey any day now and am ready to enter my points once it delivers. I'm already 4 matches behind because I found this site after the season was underway here. Looking forward to being a part of this.

I don't think points count until you shoot with the jersey. Maybe I'm wrong but Brandon or Burk can confirm for you.
Brandon has been outta town a lot so you might pm him for your contingency link when your jersey arrives if you don't have it by then

Even if you dont have a point thread started you can always post them when he has time to catch up. Just take your video/picture proof every time you shoot and all will be good.

I was trying to saying I found this site so late that I have matches that I wont get points for but hoping to get points for every match in the future. I will keep a log till I get my link. Thanks guys.

Question.

How do you upload a clip from your computer that is not from youtube? Did some videos at the latest match I would use for the Contingency program.

thanks

I have a suggestion for next years contingency program. Since there are no designated awards for the top finishers and any who just a bought a Jersey could get picked for the top prize, how about awarding free jerseys for the next year's program for the top 3 or 5 finishers? You could get one of the non-shooting equipment sponsors to put up the money for those jerseys, maybe. Just a thought, maybe it has been suggested before and I didn't see it..

Now I know everyone is going to look to see where I am in the rankings, so I'll save you the trouble, I am in first place. I just a thought it might make it a little more interesting and motivate folks to shoot more.

It would be nice if it could be applied this year, but I would understand if it seemed like a conflict or too late to make such arrangements.

Except, it's not a contest about who shoots the most, or wins the most matches. Just saying. It's a program to promote Boomershooter, our sponsors, and comraderie amongst ourselves.

However, the people shooting the most matches are promoting the Sponsors more than the shooters only shooting a few matches. I agree that some "extra" prizes should be offered to the shooters with the most matches (not who places better or wins).

Still, that's not what the contingency is about. Prolific shooters already gain an advantage. And I'm not stomping sour grapes, as I'll shoot more this year than ever. But, like I said, it isn't, and wasn't meant to be, a who shoots the most contest. It's about building the Boomershooter community, fostering forum participation, and bringing in 4he new shooters. There is no other program like this, and it's part of what makes Boomershooter so cool.

true and not true in a way. if you shoot the same place with the same people your not really promoting much more then u did the first few times. If the shooters that are only shooting a few matches are at different places (gun clubs states or whatever) then potentially they are promoting just as much or in ways more then the guy at the local range every week. just another point of view.
