2015-2016 deer hunting contest discussion thread.

Just realized I didn't put my buck and second doe in this thread.
Both with a .243 WSSM 100 grain Speer HPBT, 40 grains of Reloader17. Dropped both in their tracks.

Thanks to a buddy of mine taking me to his Osage County lease this morning, took the first taxidermy worthy buck in my short and uneventful deer hunting career.

Trailing a doe with one thing on his mind. This buck hadn't been seen or shown up on trail cams since first day of muzzleloader season when somebody got the fever and missed a shot on him. Before that, nocturnal only.

Used my my tack driving 1960's Sears & Roebuck JC Higgens 30-06 FN Mauser action.

You hunters in the Tulsa area, please PM me with your favorite taxidermist in the area if you have used several and feel it's a qualified recommendation. If this is the biggest I ever take, want to make sure the mount is well done.

Man, that's a nice buck! [emoji106]
Can't see the brow times in the pic. We're they intact?
Going to be tough beating that one down the road.
