I guess it's a cruel joke on the ROs that he's shooting a 9X25? Who the hell shoots 9X25 and WHY?

Its an old joke. He's not shooting 9x25, nobody does...

(It'd be impressive if he did, scoring Minor and still placing high enough to be selected for the team)

I figured as much but couldn't resist.

It's an embarrassing travesty that JM isn't on the Revo team.
Also, the defending World Champion, Blake Miguez is ommitted from the Standard team.
WTF?

Is anyone positive that JM wanted to be on the team?

How do you get in the team? I've never heard of the guy the OP mentioned.

Gary Byerly is an IDPA guy. Durning mentioned him by some weak-ass code name on OSA last year, saying he won IDPA nationals with one of his 1911s. I don't know that that is true. Doesn't IDPA have two national championships and 12 divisions? Everyone could be a winner when 18 people show up.

I can t imagine that he wouldnt. Competing in a World Championship is a big deal...especially if its held in your home country. I assume Jerry will still compete. Maybe he doesnt care about the prestige of being on the team. But the team also provides some financial support.

Well, he's a Master. He had a top 20 finish at this years Single Stack Nationals. Most of the other obvious choices from the top 20 are not full time SS shooters, and may be shooting the Worlds in different divisions.
They guy earned it, he shot the qualifying matches and accumulated the points.
However, day in, day out, he'd get beat by Fusion, Corey, or Greg.
