1911 Picture Thread...

Enjoyed all of the photos depicting those beautiful 1911's, guys. I have a few that I would like to share but, being a dinosaur, I don't know how to send them to this site?

Kinda in the same boat, I can attach a picture from photo library which turn out pretty small but no clue how these guys send multiple bigger pics

My RIA collection :RIA 9mm 5 L.JPG
Govt. sized 9mm ..( one of my money sinks )... started as a GI model

Next is my Officer-sized 45 Ria 45 Compact L.JPG

all I've done to this is grips & a drop of paint on the front sight.

and finally my "Baby Rock" .380 ..a work -in-progress.

and Doc 8404... I was a 8404 for awhile (as a weekend warrior) , but a 8454 for my active time.

I bought my RIA GI model Govt. sized 9mm 1911 as I wanted one of these, couldn't find one for sale @ the time...
A Springfield Loaded Target in 9mm ..a few yrs after I bought the RIA, I fond this on Gunbroker , & bought it.Springfield Armory Loaded Target 9mm L.JPG
Liked it so much I had my gunsmith do a little work on it, inc. front strap checkering. machined the top of the slide flat, ('cause I like it that way)
I've added a Stan Chen magwell since this pic was taken

RIA's are incredible value, my backup to my Bul Armory is a 5" 9mm with a few upgrades, shot several matches with it to make sure ran ok which it did, I haven't checked prices in awhile but if memory serves for 600 or less match ready, fiber optic sights(front)extended magwell, G10 grips, decent trigger, really are outstanding

"RIA's are incredible value,"... I agree, & probably should've been satisfied with the Govt sized 9mm, but I have a preference for SS pistols.
When you put $$$ into a RIA or other foreign made 1911, you (or your heirs) would never get the money invested returned in a sale..IMO
Firearms are an investment, if they're a quality brand & well cared for..so I keep telling my wife.

keep telling her brother! But they aren't a terrible investment, probably get 70-80% back if you sell them, I bought mine used for 450, this one a base model, 1911 A1, GI sights, wood grips, new price around 330 or so but previous owner had our local gunsmith buddy change sights, trigger and grips, polish all the internals, turned it into a really nice 1911, 450 probably 100-150 less than he had in it, our gunsmith does his work as a hobby or would have been more expensive but if I ever decide to sell it I'll probably get most of the 450 back being 2nd owner. I try to buy used if possible, especially Glocks, I'll post a picture of it in a little bit

The star just keeps getting bigger.
