Well for that one guy that has that 40cal 1911. CDNN has magazines in both blue & nickel on sale. Be careful that you don't get caught in the stampede for them.Years ago I remember seeing a govt size Springfield in 40 cal in my local gunsmith/ gun store. You'd think so?i like Mecgar mags. i was TOLD that 45 and 10mm are interchangeable.
if thats the case, wouldnt 45 and 10 work in a 40 mag?
I don't think that 10 and 45 would be good idea. Different dia. and lengthi like Mecgar mags. i was TOLD that 45 and 10mm are interchangeable.

New: The 10mm Auto Ruger LC CarbineI'm a 10mm fan boy. The mags for 10mm will work with .40, but I haven't tried a .40 mag with 10mm.
My interest level is up now, so I'll see if they are interchangeable tomorrow in that direction.
.45 will definitely not work.

Are you going to buy some of those mags? and if you do, let us know how they worked.I have this one that I pieced together from a complete Tisas commander frame and what is thought to be a Caspian slide and Colt barrel. However I am not sure about the slide and barrel.
It's a decent shooter. The one .40 mag that I have doesn't feed reliably but I tried a few .45 mags and have two that feed the .40 just fine.
That's a nice looking gun. I have a franken gun made from a Springfield. It's the WW model kings ( I think) short black trigger. Retro rear sight black Novak front sight a colt thumb safety and stock barrel. It also has a short wide hammer on it. It's my version of a tribute to the original GSP. I love it. I don't always agree with Col. Cooper, but I do go along wI have this one that I pieced together from a complete Tisas commander frame and what is thought to be a Caspian slide and Colt barrel. I like them too.re-reading this thread, saw a post that CDNN had mec-gar mags on sale.
Checked my usual source, GUNMAGWAREHOUSE, they've got the same mags @ considerably lower price than CDNN's salesprice.
I used to buy mags from CDNN..but found GMW had better selection &prices..It's my go-to for new mags.
I probably won't buy any more .40 cal mags since I have a few .45 mags that do feed reliably. I've marked them with a paint pen as .40 to keep them separated. Are you going to buy some of those mags? and if you do, let us know how they worked.
Well now I can say that I do know of someone that has a 40cal 1911 and that the 40cal 1911 is for real.
