range ammo. Dam sight different from a few years back! Not a commercial, but I'm running out of room for those little black ammo boxes from 2A. Biggest question now is, will it drop much more? Great time to shop.
hoping it'll drop more, but given the state of the country as butt head leaves office who knows?

I should never have to buy 9mm ammo ever again. When walmart announced it was going to quit selling centerfire pistol ammo and .223, I visited a store in a small Oklahoma town. The 9mm was like .04 a round.
The counter clerk asked if they could get me a box from the case, commenting walmart ordered it all sold at cost.
Told the clerk to empty the case of centerfire pistol ammo and empty the stock in the back of the store. Bought every round they had which was around 10,000, then went to a bigger walmart supercenter in our town and did the same. Literally ended up with a pallet of 9mm, .40, and .45 caliber.
Used some of it as trading material, but the majority sits in the ammo locker to be used.
My bank account about went belly up, but it was one of those opportunities one can't pass on.
Ammo prices in general will start falling shortly. If you have any stocks in the ammo manufacturers, time to sell.

I've been piling it since before things got crazy. I started in the late 90's I think. I remember when we clearanced Winchester 65 gr 5.56 for 3.99 a box! Someone filled their cart and emptied the shelves lol. I didn't have any Ar's then. I still have Federal American eagle in red and yellow boxes I bought for I think 12.99 45acp Buddy gave me a box of Win. 9mm 115 gr ball marked 6.99 lol. Wolf was 1.99 a box. 90.00 Russian rifles… I bought IMI45 ball for 199.00 a thousand. Bought 2cases still have some. My friend calls it 44 mag 45! Loud and has some recoil. I remember when Federal ball 223 was 7.00 a box and wouldn't pay such ghastly price for it lol. I miss those days!

I've been focusing on JHP's in 9, 40 and 45 because bulk of my stuff is FMJ, ordered few boxes of S & B 9mm hollow points yesterday, little over 16 a box with Prime Ammo at TargetsportsUSA, every week try to get something

I like S&B I have a bunch of it. All ball, never tried their hp ammo.

Be a first for me too Bob, I do expect it to be ok, not doing any ballistic gel test or anything but will be testing with Glocks so not too worried about reliability, also have got some PPU and Federal but this S & B popped up at a reasonable price in this day and age so giving it a shot

Let us know please.

I remember reading, some time ago, predictions that 5.56/.223 prices "would soon fall" due to the fact that the U.S.Gov. having millions of rounds in storage, and the fact that they switched to .308. I never saw that happen. Did the government actually start selling off the stuff, and the wholesalers got a better profit margin, or did it just not happen? I would love to find sub $ .30 mil spec, talk about stocking up, and a LOT more range days. Fingers crossed for now.

I don't think that they are making a big turn to 308. I believe that they are looking at that 6.8. Now that is not the 6.8 spc. I will try to pull up info on it.

One of my Army friends told me that awhile back. I saw a video the other day, on one of the daily gun news mailings that they were now looking at something above the 30 cal round, for more range, and power, but I can't find it now  wasn't the M14 in .308? We didn't have those in my time in VietNam, just m-16's and M1 carbines.
I found it, the M17-7.62x31 the Sig MCX in .300 blk(special forces) and the XM7 in 6.8x51(.277) looks like they're all over the board nowadays.

I just don't see the 556 getting dumped, just too expensive, military needs to catch up on so many things, Navy needs ships, some kind of iron dome thing makes sense to me, maybe add a new caliber.

The S & B JHP's worked fine in my Glocks and my Desert Eagle 1911 but was expecting that.

A little treat my son brought home, one of his buddies sent this home for me to shoot some matches with and have some fun, keep as long as I want to, looking forward to getting it to the range

Holy Mother McCree! What an incredible thing for your son's friend to do for you! You are truly blessed!

He is a sweet kid, they were teammates in high school on the basketball team, his family has been successful building cell towers, few months ago my son brought home a Microtech OTF, his buddy thought I would like it, this particular Nighthawk is the compensated model, really looking forward to it for sure but not gonna keep it to long though, makes me a little nervous, I'm gonna replace the dot for him, an older dot that has to be removed to change the battery is on it now so gonna upgrade it for him, give it back better than I got it I hope
