    Your squirrel gun?

LOL have several 22s, Autoloader, pump, bolt action all scoped but the pump. However this year I am concentrating on my newest small game gun a Savage Arms Model 42 over & under 22 / 410 with an adjustable Bushnell scope to aid my failing eyesight. Do need to spend some time at the range with...

    Knife sharpening

Used a Lanksy system for many years works great for most knives some limitations on real big blades. Recently went to the Wicked Edge system, much faster than the Lansky and a great razor edge using the ceramic finishing tools that are extras. So far this is a great system but the cost is a real...

    Shotshell reloading

Well purchased the new Savage Model 42 Combo gun (410 / 22) recently. Ordered it through a local gun shop (Palmetto Distributors) as no one had one on the rack. I was unhappy with the sights so I upgraded the basic sight by adding a Picatinny rail and a Shotgun Scope (Bushnell 1X4 scope). 22 is...

SCDNR ranges closed due to federal shutdown

Yep, I remember doing the last government shutdown all the ranges were closed then too. No reason for it except that it pisses everyone off. I guess the Feds want to show how important they are.

    Recommendations on a farm rifle

Wow,lots of good recommendations here. I personally use a NEF handi-rifle in 223 for my general purpose farm gun. It's small, reliable, shoots a common caliber, and will take most medium size game.Wouldn't go hog hunting with it but would shoot such if I caught them rooting up my garden. Check...

    Post-Apocalypse books

Tried to read JWR new book Founders but couldn't get through it. It's not very well written and contains rehashed data from the first two books. Liked his manuals but his fiction is really dreadful

teach me about deer hunting in francis marion

Hunting on public land seriously, you need to look at a stand. I've still hunted on GMA land with little success. Using a stand makes things a lot nicer. It's worth the money for the increased chances of a successful hunt.

Camping in Upstate SC this weekend, advice please

Had just such a run with a bear a few years back while camping up on the NC/SC border. We were in a group camp with family. The bear wandered into our campsite and all our kids went a little bit crazy. So the bear alerted and stood up. And one of my cousins cold cocked the bear with a small log...

holster to keep pistol on chest for hiking

Great looking gear. Just acquired the similar Bianchi made nylon holster for my Ruger Blackhawk. I believe it was significantly less expensive and will serve me better here in the southeast. :D

    Prepper convention in SC

I don't know anything about that church but IMHO it had a strong "preparedness" orientation. I didn't attend their church classes, too busy drooling over that well pumping system that was on display at the "Practical Preppers" table. I am already doing Amateur Radio (KI4VGQ) so no need there. So...

    Prepper convention in SC

LOL, that's sooo true however I have installed many wells some with the hand auger kit shown and it ain't no fun but it can be done. But you still have to register the well and all the specs with DHEC. Unregistered wells give them bad gas LOL. Have to say I did enjoy the presentations. I thought...

    Come on Irene...

Well the last time we did and evacuation out of the low country it went well with a 8-10 hour travel time to Columbia from Charleston. However the time before was a gawdawful disaster with travel times in the 15 to 20 hour range. Judge for yourself what you need in your vehicle for that kind of...
