Yep. It?s about that time as the summer fades and fall begins her reign for the year. Coming soon hunters will take to the woods to the notorious critter that is the squirrel. I myself will be taking the CZ to the range this week to make sure my zero is still good and wait for that cool morning that I know is coming?.

Hope this year is a fun season in the woods. Last year was a great time, so I think this being my first year in the South it should be a good learning season..

I have reduced many a squirrel with this:

Marlin XT22 with adjustable trigger, 22" barrel, 3-9x .22 scope and Innovative Arms Apex .22 can. Had a worn out set of nomex gloves so I used the remaining nomex to make a slip on cover. Didn't want to paint the can and this helps reduce the black signature on a rattle-can pinestraw pattern paint job

When I was living at home...my first purchase was a bolt action savage 93r17 in .17hmr ....and oh man would it do some damage...the vmax bullets wouldn't leave much behind...I have some rather gruesome pics somewhere....

After ridding them from my attic, I declared war on them in my yard. Being in a neighborhood, I am kept to a Ruger pellet rifle at 1200+ FPS. It is equipped with a red dot I had laying around (forget what brand), and it has been great on the little shitheads.

My all time favorite squirrel rifle is a Marlin Model 39A lever action carbine with a 4 power scope, but any accurate .22 hunting rifle will serve. Accurate is the operative word, since the head of a squirrel is a small mark.

Mine is an early model Kimber 82b in 22lr with a Leupold 4-12x40ao scope. Super accurate and beautiful gun. Sorry I do't have a pic of it to post.

I have three.
Diana RWS 48 I. .177 with ACOG
S&W M&P 15-22 with EO Tech and EO TWCH 3x magnifier - Suppressed
Savage model 93 .17 HMR with Leupold Mark IV - Suppressed

More kills with the pellet gun by wayyyyy far than any other gun.

LOL have several 22s, Autoloader, pump, bolt action all scoped but the pump. However this year I am concentrating on my newest small game gun a Savage Arms Model 42 over & under 22 / 410 with an adjustable Bushnell scope to aid my failing eyesight. Do need to spend some time at the range with this rifle.
