Carry Gun Match November 20, 2011 Heartland Outdoors

Looks like I'm going to make the drive and attend this match.
Now have to figure out what guns to bring.
For the second match, can one use a 22 pistol or rifle?

I'm going to fire things up a little and shoot .357 factory ammo for the first 5 rounds from my pocket.

Great, that way my pocket will still be intact for the first few stages. If we have room, I'm going snubby from jacket pocket carry and the 2nd time thru with my PM9 belt carry. If not, just the snubby. Should be a fun match.

Well had a good time, shot my last stage like cat poo in a blender but overall things worked out well and got to meet some new folks. Note to self Virginia count means no bonus shots ??? It was all fun so either way I was shooting so it was a good time. Thanks to everyone that put this on. Later,

Kirk

Fun match. Great to see Craig from Range Master Rowdy come out, and nice to finally get to Meet Dennis Hoddy FTF.

Had a blast last night and so did my M&P :))
Stage four kinda ate my lunch. But i will say this it wasnt very friendly to my bad back.
Just shot what i could didnt worry about what i missed and moved on.
I will do this agian and agian.
Enjoyed meetting alot of people i talk with here. It's good to put a face with a name.

Great fun shoot. We should not count no shoots that jump out into the line of fire. Thanks David! Good seeing everyone, Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Got home at midnight. Had a great time, shot like crap though.
Burk insisted I get on his squad. Now I know why.
I sure made his scores look better! :D
Good to get a FTF with everybody, and look forward to getting back for another match

Really great match, Glad to see my "boys" Dennis and Matt back at Heartland.

Mike Cox, We need to see the "pocket shoot" video

Thanks to everyone for coming out!

About Mike and his shoot-thru-the-pocket, let me set it up for you.

Mike had posted in passing about the only way he'd shoot thru his coat pocket was if it was a single target six feet away. Ok, done!

I had it arranged so he'd shoot that stage last. I ran him thru the other stage which deserves a special mention: at the second position where everyone had to shoot each of six targets once, reload, then shoot each in the head once, I told him to completely ignore one target, since his gun only held five...but I had a challenge for him. When he got to the second box, I'd call out a number and that would be the target he couldn't shoot. He said "sure."

At the second box, he was still reloading. While doing so he asked, "going to call a number?". I said, "I will when you're done reloading."

As he closed the cylinder, I said, "five.". He shot all but #5. As he completed the next reload, I called out "2!". Without skipping a beat, he put a head shot into all but #2. Way to go!

As he prepared for the pocket shoot, he said "I'm loading the magnums, now." I don't know about the rest of you, but I have fired exactly ONE magnum round (Cor-Bon) from a scandium gun. My hand hurt for two weeks!

At the signal, Mike fired five shots thru his Lands End coat pocket, scoring all hits in the center of the hostile target.

Mike, YOU ROCK!!

The only thing that would have made Mikes ruined jacket any more real work would have been ruined shorts to match.
