Is limited 10 a good division for a newer guy like me to stay in???

It depends on your gun setup. L-10 has low participation and will eventually go away.

Limited and Production are probably the best ways to start. If you pick Lim-10, you might win every match in that division by default. Like when only 4 single-stack guys show up, they can't do worse than 4th place.

One of the reasons I did it was because of all the stuff you could do to the gun without going to crazy.... There is no way I could afford a open gun but I could do some little things to a L10 gun and run it a little better. Dose that make any sense?? Or should I take the magwell off and just go back to production?

Why not go Limited - less mags to carry around...

Feegee, it sounds to me like you really need to just go with limited... The only real difference is the capacity, so I'd say get some 140mm mags and go crazy.

After spending a lot of time in Production, L10 has been a lot of fun and easy to transition to. When shooting full-on Limited, I have to resist the urge to reload every time my feet move. Production,, L10, and SS are very similar in the fashion you would shoot a stage.

Fegee is shooting lim-10 because he has a 45 and last time we talked he was shooting factory ammo.
You could try and see how many rounds of 45 can fit in a 140mm mag and shoot limited or take your magwell off and shoot production. Lim-10 has a low turnout just about everywhere so viable competition will be hard to come by.
My vote is to secure a 9mm plastic gun and shoot production or a 40 and shoot limited.

Revo Division was created to address a type of gun that people are using. It's totally valid, even though participation is low.
L-10 was created when our country was being run by communist. Mags were restricted to 10 rounds, so if you didnt have some old high caps, you were screwed. So, it was created to negotiate a political inconvenience and legal issue. Some states STILL cant have more than 10 rounds (like Hawaii, I think) so L-10 remains.
The subject of disbanding L-10 as a Division has come up again recently. IPSC did away with a Division just recently and are debating to add Single Stack (theyre gonna call it 'Classic') So USPSA may take another look at L-10.

If youre shooting an XDM in .45 then L-10 is an ok choice. But if it were me, I'd just shoot Production till I could get a 9mm.

That kinda sucks I have dumped some pretty good money into that 45. I sure wish I knew what I know now when I was buying that gun, ammo is higher than any other to lol. Guess I will save my money and get a xdm 5.25.

Feegee, the offer is still there to let ya come over and roll a few, we can get your round cost down A LOT from those factory rounds to save ya a few pennies. I'm in the savings mode to get a new pistol and with all the different pistols I've got to shoot I have figured out that 40SW is the way to go, limited you can get almost 20 rounds in the mag, you can load it down and still make major or minor if your feeling the urge, plenty of brass to be found and plenty of bullets.
Sometimes drinking the cool aid is a help as you can get in with folks to order bulk and just split the cost of things to lower loading costs. I shot my G23 not the best sight radius for sure but it gets the idea in your head as to what you should be doing, I was loaded a pistol to shoot from a very nice person here on this site to see if I liked and while I would have never thought I would have liked it I'm shooting so much better with it! so don't set your mind on one pistol as there are many out there that will work wonderful for this game.
