I got scolded the other day

I’ll interject:

I inspect my officers guns once a year. They are some dirty bastards. It is important to keep your guns clean and operational, pocket lint may not be a major offense but how hard is it to clean your gun once and a while?

Next:

While I am a level headed law enforcement officer I have something called discretion. While I am not a street officer it is possible for a person’s demeanor help sway my decision on how the case is presented to a prosecutor. I don’t “make them pay” or use my discretion for retribution because I cannot make someone break the law. I simply decide which path the case will travel either it being a criminal or administrative case. Now mind you my agency policy dictates I present all cases with a $1,000 or more loss to a prosecutor so we are only talking about the small fish in the sea.

Officers that “make people pay” have no business in law enforcement.

ok, lets not start this please... it was an interesting story and lets leave it at that, please don't let this forum turn into a back and forth exchange on cops...here to make it easier i will debate myself from everything i have learned on forums...

Cops are just guys with little man syndrome

you are wrong don't stereotype all cops because of one experience

It is more than just one experience...

I know a ton of cops that are great people and they are putting their lives on the line and you are jumping to conclusions

oh yeah, well you are a stupidhead

you are a poppyhead

i hate you

i hate you

TOPIC LOCKED

ahhh doesn't everyone feel better, now no one has to get all worked up because i am pretty sure i covered everything....

Is that a fact?

I regret having offended you. It was not my intent to slam LEO'S just my opinion based on a few run in's with one or two officers who did act that way for no reason at all and after going though the whole show let me go on about my day as i wash truely doing nothing wrong.
We have some great people in your line of work, i give it up to you as i could not even start to do your job.
I love working with all the PD's across the country. I know a good number of officers personaly and cherish the friendship we have.
I guess one bad apple ya know?

I got pulled over by a highway patrol by the time I left he had written down the Boomershooter website and I showed him jesse's link to all the shoots he was interested in coming to a 3 gun
Still got seat belt ticket but that's his job

ya, no need to get up in all arms yall. I was just trying to share. My carry gun was a little dirty and the officer called me on it and told me his thoughts. Its really no big deal unless you let it be. I took it more as that annoying dad moment when he tells you your doing something wrong when you know you havent and you cant really argue with him. its all good.

I dont believe anyone would get upset if i never stated my opinion and was a silent sponsor.
Better to be seen and not heard i guess.

Lance was just busting everyone's balls cause he's a big bad gun slingin' SOB and there ain't nothing we can do to stop him at least not until him and Cyrwus teach me all there secrets this weekend.

We always want opinions. That's what make our forum the best. This thread just got a little off track... then back on...then off again...then back on.

Everything's cool now :cool2:

Two years ago at the Tulsa Gun show, I removed my carry gun from my holster and unloaded it in the car. Reholstered it and put the loaded mag in my back pocket. I went to check it at the door and informed the uniformed officer I had it prior to taking it out and handing it to him. He asked me where the magazine was and I said back pocket. He asked for it so I gave it to him. That's when he told me I was on violation because I was bringing a loaded weapon into the gun show and he could arrest me,etc. Made me take my 7 rounds out to my car while he kept my pistol and mag. When I came back in he read me the riot act again, but gave me my weapon back. I was polite and yes sir'd with a smile. I walked past him and bought a box of .45JHP and kept on going. I don't believe I was violating any laws or ordinances. You won't here me bashing Law Enforcement. I think you folks do a fine job. One I would not want.

I dont give a elephant dung about opinions; I want "been there, done that" info; or "this works; because....." type stuff.

thats why I thought a gen discussion forum on bs was the wrong direction.

-and I looked, just to make sure this thread was in fact was in the general discussion section. To my horror, its in the "CCW INFO" section.

Maybe someone can enlighten me as to where the "info" in this thread is.

Most of those kind of posts are only opinions anyway. The good thing our forum is that we have a sh!tload of experts in any given field, like yourself, and that makes more of those opinions useable.

I see someone moved this to General Firearm Discussion, which it kind of is.
