Hello there,

We are going to have a simple friendly 1911 photo competition.

Rules are this:
You must currently own the 1911, and the photos submitted. (No Exceptions!)
One nomination per 1911.

You must have someone second you nomination.
We will take the first 5 seconded nominations or in case of more than 5 we will take a random generated picked 5. Starting in the new month we will have a month long vote starting the first 3-4 days in January! (this will go out in the newsletter)

For the month of January, we want to see your beauties. Just like with beautiful cars and women, we want to see what you have in your safe. It can be a safe queen, or a daily carry we don't discriminate.

Please submit a photo, and brief description.
Make, model, caliber, any special notes.

Nominations will close on December 27th.

Good luck to all, and prepare to see some great 1911's!

That one looks to be much older than WWII issued pistols.
I thought so to. I think that it may have been an early issue, which ended up being reissued in WWII. I know that part of the history, the Army Sgt. that carried it was one of Gen. Eisenhower's drivers in Europe. He brought it back. After his death, one of his family members found it in the estate...He gave it to me before he passed. It's a shame that the s/n is no longer legible, that would make it easier to date. I can tell you, there are no other locations that have the numbers, I've torn it completely down. I keep it, in that WWII holster, hanging with my old M1 Garand, for a display. It has a cool history behind it.
