Practicing should include effort

How about a BS members only Pro Am match of some kind where each squad has one of our local vets/pros/ bad asses as the squad captain. Entry fees go to them for the time and advice that they give during the match. They would critique our every move good or bad.
I know there are classes for this but I just think it would be cool to get some training in a real competitive situation.
This is a great idea! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X-R6yKa99g

What an awesome idea! They're some very competent folks on this forum that I think would be cool to pick their brains for relevant training tips!

You guys dont listen on the internet, why would you at a match? lol! just kidding. Besides, a match isnt really an ideal place to learn new things, theres usually a lot going on.

So what would you suggest Cyrwus?? there are alot of guys like me that cannot make the 2 day courses that go into sunday and there are others that just want more of a laid back situation. I am planning (after i get my membership back to OKCGC) to set up a "study group" where we meet once a month to practice on different things and everyone can give tips, etc...

Not knocking the idea here but of the classes I've been to, I'd consider them pretty relaxed, not rigid or stuffy at all. They've been a really good time & very informative.

i know i just think some people "think" because it is "class" it is going to be over the top (not saying it is true, that is just the perception some have)

Chambers will usually say - "JP, You shoot fast" at the end of a stage. I'm still not sure if that is good or bad. ;)

I'm good to go with Matt Wrights Idea. It would be fun, and informative.

It would be like a scrambles in Golf where a good golfer gets a squad, and the members are distributed according to their classification.

whos a okcgc member?
I might could try to start a training/practice session for a few hours. Make it semi-regular like.

ahh that is the crywus i know and love... i know underneath that scuffy exterior you have heart filled with ammo that you want to share with everyone!!! JP or Wall could i be your +1??

You can be mine, but the range has strict policies stating that the +1 must carry all the members gear to and from the car, and supply drink and towels to wipe the sweat from the members forehead in summer.

you know i have a shooting buddy that asked one of the pro's one time about sticking his reloads. the pro's answer was "i get 250 an hour to answer questions like that"

I enjoy training, but there are those they answer everything with I know, which is apparent that they normally don't know by looking on how they shoot. Its frustrating to hear that as a trainer and as a classmate. I expect to train before I can perform so there will be a competition class in my future..

Next season I am switching to one of them funny bottom feeders in efforts to see how well I can do with all that training I took in 2010 and all the wheel gunning i have done in 2011. the thing I enjoy about revo shooting that ill miss in limited is the fact that revo guys typically break down the stage together and share those 250 dollar an hour answers.

... ask the pro can't be successful if the conversation is more of an argument and less of a discussion.
