I only got into this because you replied to a forum post and loaned me gear at a Heartland match a year ago. By the next shoot I had bought all the basic gear I needed and was hooked!!!

Hello, my name is Jesse Tischauser, L3223.
I am announcing my intention to run for the position of 2012 Oklahoma Section Coordinator for the United States Practical Shooting Association.
I was born and raised in Central Wisconsin. I served 9 years in the Wisconsin and Oklahoma Army National guard reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.
I moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1997 and attended the Oklahoma State University where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. I now reside in Edmond and operate a wholesale greenhouse business with my lovely wife Tara.
My love for the USPSA and practical shooting has driven me to do everything I can to spread the word about this exciting sport. I truly enjoy seeing new shooters attend their first matches. .
It is important for a Section Coordinator to understand all of the available shooting disciplines that USPSA has to offer. I am nearly classified in all six USPSA divisions and am a very active 3-gun shooter. I shoot 3-4 action shooting events each month and maintain a heavy major match schedule. I have participated in all levels of USPSA matches. I am a member of IDPA and GSSF and am a life member of USPSA, SCSA, ICORE, and the NRA.
I am a great believer in communication. A great Section Coordinator communicates and reaches out.
To help reach new shooters as well as current shooters, I have recently done the following:
Late last year I helped create a shooting forum called BoomerShooter.com. It is an exciting new website geared toward educating new shooters from Oklahoma and getting them involved in the action shooting sports.
I have been assisting our Area 4 director with the Area 4 Facebook page and also started an Oklahoma Facebook page. Here are the links, in case you haven’t already “liked†them. Area 4 Facebook Page . Oklahoma Section Facebook Page.
In 2009 and 2010 I volunteered to be the match director for the Society of Petroleum Engineers annual 3 gun match. I currently run stats and work as a Range Officer at the local TACCS match that regularly has 40+ shooters in attendance. I am also working as a Range Master for the 2011 Oklahoma State SWAT 3 gun match. I will be working as a Range Officer at the High Plains Rifle Challenge match as well. I enjoy a high level of involvement.
The following list is of all of the tasks I will strive to accomplish as your Oklahoma Section Coordinator.
• Move the communication within the Oklahoma Section to the 21st century with the social networking that is currently available. This will drastically increase the communication within the section and the visibility of the actions of the section to its members.
• The current section bylaws haven’t been updated since 2003. First, I will get those bylaws digitized. Second, I will get the bylaws updated with the help of the section clubs and their members. Third, I will make the bylaws readily available to every member.
• Currently the individual clubs keep an email list of their shooters/members. I will expand that list to the Section level so that all the clubs can reach the Section members via email to notify them of upcoming matches, scores, and schedule changes, etc.
• I will grow the Section and the life membership of the Section. We currently have 348 members of the USPSA and 44 members of the SCSA. With dedicated effort, we can grow each of those by at least 10%.
• I will find more ways to help support the smaller clubs in the Section. One idea is to have one or two larger scale matches at the smaller clubs per year. The section will promote the larger matches and help to coordinate carpools from the Tulsa and OKC areas to get more shooters to those matches. This will give the smaller clubs one or two larger influxes of funds to buy more targets, steel, etc.
• I will have Sectional level matches for each division. Each of those Sectional matches should be held at a different club to promote shooters to get out and enjoy all of the great clubs we have in the section. This will also allow the smaller clubs to raise more money for their clubs.
• We should have one large Oklahoma State pistol match per year. This would be similar to the larger Area type matches that get promoted on a national level.
• Similarly, we should have a State level shotgun, rifle, or 3 gun match every year. I won’t compete with the great outlaw shotgun, rifle, and 3 gun matches we currently have in our state, but would instead coordinate with those matches to make it happen.
• I will make plans to hold Range Officer training annually or at a minimum bi-annually.
• The Section needs to have a website that is owned by the Section. This website will be accessible to the individual clubs.
• I will utilize a fair means of distributing slots for Nationals. I will also make the Section’s members aware of who is receiving those slots to represent us at Nationals.
• I will be taking suggestions and recommendation from the Section’s clubs and members to make the Oklahoma Section the best section in the USPSA.
I have made it my personal goal to spread the word about the USPSA and all of our great action shooting sports. I do everything I can do to get new shooters to come out and enjoy our state’s great matches.
The next step in my love for this sport is to help out our local clubs and USPSA members as the 2012 Oklahoma Section Coordinator.

I have to say I thought about calling at 330am when I get up in the morning to leave for the sectional just to rattle him so I have a shot at the sectional. But I thought better of it since I haven't actually met him yet. Maybe the friday before we shoot Doubletap. Lol. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Well folks Robert Carlile and I have been talking about the upcoming Section Coordinator vacancy. We have come to the conclusion that there is no reason to waste everyone time and efforts on a Section Coordinator race when there are two candidates that are both more than qualified . So going forward I am going to put my full support behind Robert and his goals for the Section. I hope you all will do the same thing.
