The weather was pretty hot and more than a little windy but we all had a great time. I don't think we'll be doing all eight stages again until cooler weather, but it was fun once. Seventeen total shooters, 5 shooters shooting multiple divisions, and 5 shooters that shot their first steel challenge match with us. It was nice to meet Dutch Wrangler and his lovely bride face to face as well. We're hoping that she will get to shoot her first Steel Challenge match soon.

Thanks to all who showed up and helped set up the stages, and took them down in the end and thanks to all who had a hand in bringing the BBQ lunch.

For those of you who missed out, well.... There is allways next month!! :D

That sounds like a great day of shooting Does Tri City Gun Club have a steel challenge?

I think they do, IIRC someone was telling me that tri city does run a steel challange. I'd like to get a .22LR pistol and try SC. Someone told me there is a .22LR conversion that I can get for a Glock, but I have never seen one or heard of it before, so I don't know if it is true that there is a 22 conversion for Glocks

Tri city doesn't have steel challenge but they should! They should also be sanctioned by USPSA. Tell them that next time you shoot there please.

Justin,

I have an advantage arms glock conversion. It is saweet!

5 newbies? That's awesome! I hope they come back for more.

I know for certain that at least three are out looking for more appropriate guns to shoot next month. Two of these are a husband and wife, and while they left the range with the biggest grins on their faces, the husband kept sayiny, do you know what this is going to cost me? LOL! He actually shut down his business on Saturday to come out and play and left saying it was worth every penny! ;)

Will you post a picture of it? Also where did you get it from, and what is the cost?

There are .22LR conversions for your Glock. Personally, I shoot a Kimber conversion on my Kimber Grand Raptor 5" .45 frame with a Burris Fast-fire red dot sight and it's a blast. It's also great trigger time with your USPSA/IPSC pistol. Abviously, little recoil but great trigger time.

I bought mine used last year during the everything gun shortage. I just bought 5 more mags A's you can only get 10 rounders.

Just want to add that the folks at SCRAP were fantastic hosts. They have a great little range, I was impressed by their attention to keeping things safe and the food, although the wife and I didn't partake since we had to leave, smelled good. The next time we go down we'll be staying for the entire event. And hopefully I can talk my wife into trying her hand at shooting. :)

My wife wrote up a short entry on her blog to share with her Canadian family and friends. For her, the exposure to firearms and the shooting sports is a new experience. It's been an educational process for her that I've been sharing with her for the 6+ years of our marriage. With her now living in the US, she can now see first hand how it really is instead of relying on heresay and negative media.

If you're a new shooter and want to participate is an easy going, layed back form of action sports... try your hand at SC. You won't regret it.
