I have a Charter arms Undercover, with a second frame.
Out testing some handloads with 148 gr wadcutters & unique powder.
Suddenly this all steel revolver broke in half exposing a frame made of Pot metal.
WOW that was different, so much for an all steel frame. Cheap guns scare me.
Dang broke in half? I'd definitely be wary too. Have you considered the possibility of a used S&W j frame? I like my model 36. I have a 442 also. It's been worked on. It has a dovetailed white dot front sight and probably the smoothest trigger pull I've ever had on a j frame. Great to carry, but not fun to shoot with anything warm. I've had 640's didn't care for them. Constantly shot to the right. Both barrels slightly cocked to right. Had first gen Colt Cobra's one great one not good. As I said I've had decent luck with Taurus to the point of as soon as my new holster is made for it I'll be carrying one or the other Taurus' as a part of my ccw guns.
